My name is Kimberley (she/her) and I am a Registered Psychotherapist (Qualifying). I am a member of the Ontario Association of Mental Health Professionals (OAMHP) and the Canadian Counselling and Psychotherapy Association (CCPA). I am also a Registered Midwife (Inactive) and have been involved with reproductive health and birth work since 2006. I am a solo parent who experienced late postpartum depression and and am hoping to use my knowledge about fertility, pregnancy, birth, postpartum challenges, partner experience, relationship issues, loss and how trauma and grief reside in the body to help make the invisible visible and empower you to centre yourself as the expert of your own, unique experience. I hold an MFA in Creative Writing from UBC and have a keen interest in storytelling and the ways we choose to share our stories as a way toward wellness.

A Little Bit More About Me & How I Practice

Perinatal counselling provides vital support and guidance to individuals and families during the reproductive and perinatal periods. With a deep understanding of the unique emotional challenges that arise during this time, I can offer you a collaborative, trauma-aware, brave, safe, and nurturing space to explore and address concerns such as anxiety, depression, fear, feelings of loss of self, relationship issues, body image challenges, grief, and adjustment difficulties. Through evidence-based, feminist-based, relational-cultural, narrative, and person-centred counselling, I aim to help you find balance and voice during your transformative reproductive and perinatal journeys and will support you to navigate the complexities of fertility, pregnancy, and parenthood, develop coping strategies, and enhance developing and fulfilling relationships to self, expectations and others.

I practice at the intersection of psychotherapy, midwifery, and creative writing. With a Master’s Degree in Creative Writing and a passion for birth stories, I recognize the immense power of narrative in healing. As an experienced midwife, I bring warmth, understanding, and a diversity of expertise to each unique journey, providing personalized care and support to you and whoever you choose to share this journey with. As a Master of Arts Counselling Psychology candidate, I dive deep into emotional landscapes to help you achieve goals and find hope, healing and resilience. Together we can weave the threads of reproductive, perinatal & birth stories, honouring their capacity to transform trauma into a healing experience. I believe in the profound impact of sharing and validating these stories, offering a path to awareness, empowerment, balance, and overall wellness.
